Membership Events & Project Coordinator
The Canadian Home Builders’ Association is the voice of residential construction in Canada and in New Brunswick. Our Provincial Office is located in the heart of downtown Fredericton, New Brunswick. We promote excellence in residential construction and work to improve the quality of housing, provide training and skill development to industry by certifying home builders and renovators through our CHBANB MASTER BUILDER® Program. We provide public education on building science, help consumers understand the benefits of hiring a professional contractor and we champion energy efficiency in New Brunswick (since 1980) by delivering the R-2000, Energy Star and Net Zero Housing Programs. We are a not-for-profit Association representing members from all corners of New Brunswick.
We have a full-time permanent position available for a Membership Events & Project Coordinator who will plan, attend, and manage our monthly membership gatherings throughout NB, our annual conference and awards ceremony, golf tournaments, monthly membership gatherings and assist with the delivery of our training workshops. This enthusiastic, motivated individual will work with senior staff, members, and our volunteers to provide relevant and fun networking opportunities and workshops for members, sponsors, industry, and stakeholders.
Our Membership Events and Project Coordinator will be outgoing, energetic, and willing to immerse themselves into this very important role. They will have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point and be comfortable in learning and navigating the internet and new internet-based programs. They will have a strong history of project management and event coordination. Post secondary training and/or experience in event planning and management would be an asset. As some in-province travel is required, a valid driver’s license and a reliable mode of transportation is required. Some work in the evenings may also be required. This position would compliment a person with strong leadership and organizational skills. Bilingualism (Fr & En) would be an asset as would knowledge of building science, residential construction, and energy efficiency.
Our Membership Events & Project Coordinator will travel throughout New Brunswick and meet the province’s premier builders, renovators, and suppliers. They will learn about the ever-changing and dynamic world of residential construction, energy efficiency, skill development and professional certification. They will be directly involved in planning of provincial and national events.
