Our Members could be your neighbors, friends or family. They include builders, renovators, land developers, electricians, plumbers, roofers, building supply dealers, bankers, energy consultants, insulators, municipalities, government, heating and ventilation contractors to name only a few. We represent every corner of the home building industry.
Our Association is governed by Member volunteers who advocate at all three levels of government in an effort to enhance our industry and protect you, the consumer from un-necessary and costly policies and regulations. At the municipal level, we have Local Councils and Associations in Saint John, Moncton, Fredericton, and Sussex. Our provincial office in Fredericton communicates with departments within our provincial government and it is equally important that our voice is heard at the national level to ensure our Member’s issues are brought forward and this is handled through our national office in Ottawa.
There are many women and men in our Membership who work to shape our industry. They are innovators, inventors, educators, lobbyists, building science experts, and home building professionals. We are important and relevant to each and every New Brunswicker; we provide you with your most basic provision, valuable asset: the home where your life “happens”.
Whether you live in an apartment, condominium, or house, it was built by a home builder, and most likely a member of the Canadian Home Builders Association New Brunswick.
We believe our Members to be the foremost professionals in our industry. They offer warranty on new home construction, adhere to workplace health and safety regulations, obtain the necessary building permits, they carry liability insurance coverage, make proper remittances to Revenue Canada and adhere to a Code of Ethics; they are professional home builders. They have championed energy efficient construction in the early 1980’s and still today lead our Province in R-2000, EnergyStar and are now championing the future of housing – CHBA Net Zero Certified Homes – A home that produces as much energy as it is uses through renewable energy and advanced building science technology.
