The Canadian Home Builders’ Association New Brunswick!
The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home.
The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) is a not-for-profit trade organization which strives for professionalism and prides itself as being the voice of the residential construction industry both here at home in New Brunswick, and across the Country. Each of our Members follow a code of ethics and demonstrate a commitment of doing business the “right” way – the professional way.
Our Members could be your neighbors, friends or family. They include builders, renovators, developers, electricians, plumbers, roofers, building supply dealers, bankers, energy consultants, insulators, municipalities, government, heating and ventilation contractors to name only a few. We represent every corner of the home building industry.
Our Association is governed by volunteers who advocate at all three levels of government in an effort to enhance our industry and protect you, the consumer from un-necessary and costly policies and regulations. At the municipal level, we have offices in Saint John, Moncton, Fredericton and Sussex.
Our provincial office, located in Fredericton, communicates with departments within our provincial government and it is equally important that our voice is heard at the national level to ensure our Members’ issues are brought forward and this is handled through our national office in Ottawa.
There are many women and men who work to shape our industry. They are innovators, inventors, educators, lobbyists, building science experts, and home building professionals. We are important and relevant to each and every New Brunswicker; we provide you with your most basic provision and valuable asset: the home where your life “happens”. Whether you live in an apartment, condominium, or house, it was built by a home builder, most likely a Member of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association New Brunswick.
We believe that the Members of our Association are the foremost professionals in our industry. They provide warranty on new home construction, provide workplace health and safety coverage for their employees’ protection, they carry liability insurance coverage, make proper remittances to Revenue Canada and adhere to a code of ethics; they are professional home builders. They have championed energy efficient construction in the early 1980’s and still today lead our Province in R-2000 and energy efficient new home construction, some 30 years later.
Our Members are in a league above all others in the industry. Membership with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association is voluntary. Our Members are those who not only strive for excellence in residential construction, but they give back to their industry for the betterment of the industry and everyone who buys a new home or renovates their home. That is what sets them apart. We have witnessed first-hand the thousands of hours given by our Members every year to make the home that you live in a quality built, safer, affordable, and more energy efficient home.
If you are planning on buying a new home, hiring a contractor or having your current home renovated, hire a member of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association. Hire someone who supports their industry and dedicates themselves to making your home a better place to live.
